What is wool?
Wool is one of many little wonders of nature we sometimes take for granted. Wool is a natural protection that protects sheep from rain, snow, cold and hot weather.

In its natural environment, wool already fulfills its major function, to cover the body and protect it from all atmospheric influence. Man has noticed that, understood and started to use it. What is important to know is that wool is not considered to be only from sheep fleece, but also other fine animal hair, like Alpaca, Camel hair, Cashmere, Mohair, Llama hair, Vicuna hair, Angora.
What else is important to know is that in case of sheep wool there is a difference between to main types:
- Merino wool, the fines wool in the world with distinctive strong curly fibers,
- Mixed breeds wool, medium fine, with longer but not very curly fibers.
